HYM × OLD MASTER Q

The Comic Legend: Old Master Q

"Old Master Q" is a legendary comic created by Hong Kong cartoonist Alfonso Wong (1923–2017, pen name Wong Chak). Since its debut in Hong Kong newspapers in 1962 and subsequent offprint in 1964, this grid comic strip has masterfully depicted the daily lives of Chinese people since the 1960s, becoming beloved globally. It is not just a comic; it is a microcosm of an era.

Timeless Playfulness, Classic Spin

When classic Hong Kong comic memories meet high-fidelity vinyl culture, HYM proudly presents the new crossover collaboration turntable "Seed-OLD MASTER Q" with the legendary comic "OLD MASTER Q." This limited-edition collection includes exclusive certificates, unique numbering, signatures, and merchandise, infusing over half a century of cultural memory into a modern analog listening experience.

The Design Narrative: A Vinyl Chase

HYM created an exclusive new action and storyline for this collaboration. On the turntable's body, Old Master Q is throwing a vinyl-shaped frisbee while a puppy runs wildly beside him. Q strides forward, shuttling through three distinct arches. These arches are brilliantly inspired by the classic three-circle pattern on Q's chest. The dynamic sense of this chase game surrounds the record player, and the looming characters bring a curious, story-driven tension to the design.

The Hidden Meaning: A Childlike Heart

Behind this dynamic visual lies a profound interpretation of the character: under the image of Q's thick, old-school appearance, there beats a naughty, pure heart just like that of a child.
